    NCAA Tournament Notes Get Acrobat Reader

    EVANSTON, Ill.-- The Northwestern men's soccer team is heading back to the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats received an at-large bid to the 2013 NCAA Tournament and will host a first-round match against Bradley on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. at Lakeside Field.

    This is the eighth NCAA Tournament appearance for the Wildcats, all of which have come under head coach Tim Lenahan. The Wildcats recorded a 10-7-3 record this year while Bradley brings a 13-6-2 record into the NCAA Tournament. The winner of Thursday's game will travel to face No. 4 seed California on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 3:30 p.m. CT. 

    Back in the Dance
    2013 marks Northwestern's third consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. The `Cats have already reached the NCAA Tournament in seven of the last eight season and eight of the last ten (2004, 2006-09, 2011-13). 

    Those streaks are the second best in the Big Ten, behind Indiana, who has made 27 straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

    Tickets for Thursday's contest will be available for purchase beginning at 6 p.m. at Lakeside Field. Northwestern students with a valid WildCARD will receive FREE admission. Price of admission is as follows: Adults - $8, Youth/Senior/Non-Northwestern Student with valid student ID - $5, Infants - $1.

    Putting in Overtime
    Overall this season, NU has played seven overtime games, six going into double overtime. The seven OT contests are the fourth most overtime games in a single season in school history, the most being nine in 2012.

    NU sophomore Joey Calistri is tied for the Big Ten lead with four game winning goals this season. Senior Chris Ritter ranks tied fourth with three. 

    Ritter Named Senior CLASS Award Finalist
    Northwestern senior midfielder Chris Ritter has been named a Top 10 finalist for the 2013 Senior CLASS Award. 

    The award, which is an acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, honors the attributes of senior student-athletes in four areas: community, classroom, character and competition. It focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

    Sophomore forward Joey Calistri has tallied 12 goals, three assists and 28 points this season. His 12 goals and 28 points are the most in the Big Ten. His 12 goals are tied for 10th most in the nation.
