COLUMBUS, Ohio – After defeating Wisconsin on Wednesday in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament, Northwestern returns to action facing No. 20 Michigan State in the conference’s tournament semifinals.

The Wildcats (10-6-3, 2-4-1) meet the Spartans (11-4-3, 4-2-1) Friday at 1:30 p.m. CT at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

Friday’s game will air live on Big Ten Network, with Chris Doran (play-by-play), Kevin Egan (color commentary) and Dean Linke (sideline) calling the game.

After defeating No. 13 Wisconsin, Friday’s match marks Northwestern’s second consecutive contest against a Top 20 team in the nation, as the Spartans come in ranked No. 20.

Michigan State earned the No. 3 seed in this year’s Big Ten Tournament, facing the No. 7 Wildcats.

Friday's game against the Spartans is a rematch of the two team's earlier meeting this season at Lakeside Field on Oct. 6. The Big Ten rivals fought to double overtime until MSU pulled out a 3-2 victory.

Including that matchup, the last three times the teams have played each other, the game's have reached double overtime.  NU won 2-1 in 2012 and the teams tied 1-1 in 2011.

The winner will face the winner of No. 1 Penn State vs. No. 5 Indiana, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. CT, live on Big Ten Network.
