EVANSTON, Ill.Kyle Schickel (Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier) assisted on two first-half goals for Northwestern as the Wildcats shutout Missouri State, 2-0 in front of 1,097 fans at Lakeside Field Saturday night. NU goalkeeper Tyler Miller (Woodbury, N.J./Bishop Eustace) registered his fifth shutout of the season.

Northwestern found the back of the net quickly as Nick Gendron (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) scored off an assist from Schickel just 1:42 into the game. It was Gendron's first goal of the season and Schickel’s first assist of the season.

Schickel then recorded his second assist of the game as he set up Lepe Seetane (Lesotho, Africa/Trinity) in the 38th minute for the score. Seetane, who is listed at 5-foot-2, leapt up for the header that snuck past Missouri State goalkeeper Trevor Spangenberg for his first goal of the year. With Gendron and Seetane’s goals tonight, seven different players have scored at least one goal for the Wildcats this season.

Missouri State had the 9-7 advantage in shots and 5-3 lead over Northwestern in shots on goal. Miller saved all five of those shots while Spangenberg had one save. Reed Losee (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion) had a game-high three shots, including one on goal in the second half.

Saturday’s game was a physical one with five yellow cards (two to NU, three to Missouri State), two red cards (one to Missouri State head coach Jon Leamy at the end of the first half and to James Fawke in the 68th minute) and 24 fouls (12 for each team).
