    Position:
    Assistant Coach

Matt Keeler, arguably the finest goalkeeper in Northwestern men?s soccer history, was hired by Coach Lenahan in February and enters his first season as the Wildcats? second assistant. Keeler?s primary responsibility will be the development of the Wildcat goalkeepers.

Keeler played for the Wildcats from 1996-99 and is the only player in NU history to earn first team All-Big Ten honors. Captain of the 1999 squad, Keeler was voted the team?s MVP his junior and senior seasons. His name is among the Top 10 in every goalkeeping record at NU, including his 11.5 career shutouts which ranks second all-time.

In addition to his playing experience, Keeler has been a counselor at numerous soccer camps and clinics in Michigan and Illinois.

After graduation, Keeler took a job at Hull Trading as a financial analyst, but the opportunity to return to his alma mater as a coach was too great to ignore.

Keeler possesses an NSCAA National coaching diploma. ?We are very excited to have Matt on our staff,? said Lenahan. ?He left a successful career in the finance industry and is making a tremendous financial sacrifice to become a coach. As the only first team All-Big Ten men?s soccer player in Northwestern history, he will be able to share the vision we have for the future of the program with fellow soccer alums and other members of the Northwestern community."
