ST. ANDREWS, Scotland -- Northwestern rising junior Eric Chun (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) hit the links at the Old Course at St. Andrews again Tuesday for a practice round ahead of the 150th Open Championship, and this round had special meaning.
Chun, the 2009 Big Ten individual champion, played with his childhood idol, fellow South Korea native K.J. Choi Tuesday. "K.J. is the Michael Jordan of Korea," Chun said.
Choi was a "class act" the entire round, immediately embracing Chun and offering advice along the way. Check out pictures from Tuesday in this Photo Gallery.
After the round, Chun and Steve Bailey, Chun's caddy and Northwestern men's golf associate head coach, had dinner with Bubba Watson and Rickie Fowler. Bailey is keeping a blog for Golfweek during the Open; check it out here for an entertaining story about the dinner and also an encounter with Sergio Garcia.
