Official PING All-Region Release
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern senior Nick Losole (Scottsdale, Ariz./Scottsdale Notre Dame) and junior Jack Perry (Santa Barbara, Calif./Santa Barbara) have been named Division I PING All-Midwest Region, announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Losole's honor is the first of his career while Perry's is the second after he also earned the nod in 2012. The duo previously both earned All-Big Ten first team selections this year.
Losole compiled a 72.59 stroke average via six top-20 and four top-10 finishes in his final year at Northwestern to rate second on the squad. His career stroke average of 74.16 ranks him eighth in program history. Losole opened this season with three top 10s including a third-place effort at the Inverness Intercollegiate and a career-best runner-up result at the Olympia Fields CC/Fighting Illini Invitational. He then led NU with a 12th-place finish at his final collegiate tournament, the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional.
Perry's second award comes during a stellar season that saw him become the first Wildcat since Luke Donald in 2001 to win the Les Bolstad Award for having the lowest regular-season stroke average (71.61) of any Big Ten competitor. Perry racked up nine top-20 finishes in 11 stroke play events including five top-10s and a pair of victories. His runaway win at the Northwestern Spring Invitational established an NU 54-hole tournament scoring record when he holed out for a 16-under 200, besting the previous mark of 202 held jointly by Donald and David Lipsky.
