EVANSTON, Ill. -- Senior Jack Perry (Santa Barbara, Calif./Santa Barbara) has been named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week after posting his fifth top-10 finish in seven Northwestern team stroke play tournaments this year at The Goodwin hosted by Stanford.

Perry's 5-under 205 featured 16 total birdies and three rounds all in the 60s to give him nine such scores this season and 15 total rounds at par or better. At the Goodwin, the 2013 All-American opened with a 1-under 69 before putting together his best effort of the tourney in the second round when he battled windy, rainy conditions to card a 2-under 68. That score was just two strokes off the best for anyone in the field that day.

Perry then closed with an identical 2-under 68 in the final round for a t-4 overall finish. His performance helped NU to a top-half, eighth-place finish among a field with 10 of the current top-50 ranked programs in the most recent Golfstat.com data.

The honor is the fourth of Perry's career and his second of the 2013-14 season. He also won the accolade after medalling at the Rod Myers Intercollegiate in the fall.
