EVANSTON, Ill. -- Following two wins to start the spring season and a month off from competition during which NU completed its winter quarter finals, the Wildcats return to action March 22-23 at the Barona Collegiate Cup hosted by San Diego State in Lakeside, Calif.
The Barona is a six-count-five tournament, meaning each team will field six competitors with the low five scores in each round counting toward the team total. This is the same format as the Gifford Collegiate at CordeValle that NU played during the fall season, but is different from most other collegiate events, which generally are five-count-four affairs.
Teams will play 36 holes Thursday and the final 18 holes Friday at the 7,088-yard, par-72 Barona Creek Golf Club in Lakeside, Calif. Thursday will begin with a 9:30 a.m. CT/7:30 a.m. PT shotgun start while Friday's action gets underway with a 9 a.m. CT/7 a.m. PT shotgun. Live scoring will be available via Golfstat.com while live tweets from head coach Pat Goss on the course can be found @NUGolf_LIVE.
