    Wildcats Tied for Fourth at The Nelson

    Ciotti Tied for Eighth Individually

    STANFORD, Calif. -- The Northwestern men's golf team, led by Erik Ciotti's round of even-par 71, currently stand in fourth place with a team score of 292 after one round of The Nelson at Stanford Golf Club. LSU leads the tournament at 286, followed by Georgia Tech and Stanford tied at 290. Ciotti's round of 71 included a back nine score of 33. He is three strokes back of tournament co-leaders Randy Leen of Indiana and Freeman Fite of Alabama.

    Jess Daley and Josh Habig also are among the top 20 individuals after one round, tied for 19th place at two-over-par 73. Luke Donald shot a 75 while David Shaffer posted an 83.

    The tournament continues with round two on Saturday followed by the third and final round on Sunday.
