JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. -- Junior David Merkow (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead Union) fired a 2-under 142 on Saturday at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at The Ridges, and is in sixth place, five strokes off the lead.

As a team, the Wildcats are in 11th place with a 19-over 595 (303-292). South Carolina (6-under 570) and North Carolina (2-under 574) are atop the team leaderboard.

Merkow fired rounds of 72 and 70 for his 2-under 142. East Tennessee's State Rhys Davies, the nation's eighth-ranked player, leads the tourney with a 7-under 137.

Senior Dillon Dougherty (Woodland, Calif./Woodland) is in 36th place at 5-over (77-72=149). Chris Wilson (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman), Dan Doyle (Rochester, Mich./Stoney Creek) and Kyle Moore (Dublin, Ohio/Scioto) are 61st, 67th and 70th, respectively.

The third and final round is set for Sunday.
