GLENVIEW, Ill. -- With nearly two rounds complete at the 12th Windon Memorial Classic at the North Shore Country Club, Northwestern currently is tied for fourth place in the 15-team event. Play was suspended Sunday night due to darkness with three teams still on the course.

The Wildcats completed their first and second rounds, currently boasting a 10-over 578 after posting identical scores of 5-over 289. NU is tied with Missouri, one stroke behind third place Kent State and three strokes ahead of sixth-place Tulsa. Illinois leads the tournament with a two-round total of 9-under 559, nine strokes ahead of Indiana (which still has three holes to complete in its second round).

Play will continue Monday morning, Oct. 6, at 7:30 a.m. CT, with the final three groups completing the second round. The final round of the Windon Memorial Classic then will begin at approximately 8:15 a.m.

David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) stands in 13th place with a two round total of 1-over 143 (72-71). Also in the top 20 after two rounds of play is senior Andy DeKeuster (Franksville, Wis./Racine Lutheran), who put together scores of 71-73 to end day one in 18th place at 2-over 144.

Freshman Eric Chun (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) went 72-73 to card a 3-over 145, entering the final day in 24th position. After a rough first round in which he fired a 7-over 78, Jonathan Bowers (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) recovered to contribute a 2-over 73 in the second round, ranking 56th in the field.

Rounding out NU's team effort Sunday was Matt Denison (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North), who turned in a 2-over 73 in round one before carding an 8-over 79 in round two. Denison enters the final day in 60th position.

DeKeuster opened his day red-hot, securing birdies on four of his first eight holes before bogeying the ninth to go out in 32. After a double-bogey on the final hole, he finished with an even-par 71 to pace the Wildcats in the first round. The senior was 1-under through 13 in his second round before finishing with three bogeys in his final five holes.

Lipsky had a steady morning round, carding two birdies and three bogies to go along with 13 pars to finish with a 1-over 72. The junior was on pace for an under-par second round before a bogey on the 18th hole.

Chun and Denison each finished with scores of 2-over 73 in the first round, with both recovering from tough front nines to score well on the back side. Chun found himself at 5-over after the first five holes, but made five birdies against just two bogies the rest of the way. Denison went out in 3-over 38 before notching a 1-under 35 on the back.

Chun continued to be steady in the second round, earning two birdies against three bogies for his 1-over 72. Bowers recovered from a late double bogey in his second round to birdie No. 17 and finish at 2-over 73.
