    OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. -- Northwestern finished in 12th place at the 2009 Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational, firing a final round 23-over 303 to finish at 64-over 904 (286-315-303) for the tournament.

    The Wildcats bested both Indiana and Wake Forest by one stroke while coming in three strokes behind San Diego State, which was 11th. Arizona State claimed the team title with a 54-hole score of 30-over 870.

    Sophomore Eric Chun (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) finished in the top-20 for the second-consecutive tournament, coming in 19th with a 10-over 220 (68-77-75) to lead Northwestern. Junior David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) finished 38th at 15-over 225 (71-77-77) for the Wildcats.

    Sophomore Sam Chien (San Diego, Calif./Mt. Carmel) fired his best round of the tournament with a 4-over 74 Sunday to complete his weekend at 27-over 237 (81-82-74), good for 67th place. Senior Jonathan Bowers (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) finished five spots ahead of Chien in 62nd place at 24-over 234 (76-81-77).

    Nick Losole (Scottsdale, Ariz./Scottsdale Notre Dame) rounded out Northwestern's day Sunday with a 14-over 84, finishing the tournament with a 25-over 235 (71-80-84) to place 63rd.

    Northwestern returns to action Oct. 4-5 at its own Windon Memorial Classic, hosted this year at Skokie Country Club in Glenview, Ill.
