AUSTIN, Texas -- Battling unusually cold and rainy conditions, Northwestern's men's golf team shot a 12-over-par 300 on Monday to sit in ninth place after one of three rounds at the 36th Annual Morris Williams Intercollegiate Tournament.

Monday's play was scheduled for 36 holes, but the second round was suspended due to darkness at approximately 6:30 p.m. CT. The golfers had between two to five holes remaining in their round when play was stopped. Second-round play is slated to resume on Tuesday, March 26 at 8:30 a.m. Pairings for the third round will be the same as they were for the first and second rounds, with the final round scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

Junior Scott Harrington (Portland, Ore./Jesuit) shot one of his best rounds of the year, firing a 1-over-par 73 to sit in a nine-way tie for 15th place. Senior Chris Thayer (Richmond, Va./Godwin) is one stroke behind Harrington with an opening-round 74.

The Wildcats are 11 strokes behind first-day leader Brigham Young.
