Puerto Rico Classic Day One Results (PDF Format) 
RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico -- Junior David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) is in third place in the individual standings after the first round Sunday at the Puerto Rico Classic. Lipsky fired a 4-under 68 to lead Northwestern, which is in 10th place in the team standings after round one.
The Wildcats fired a team round of 2-over 290, good for a 10th-place tie with Virginia Tech. Those schools are two shots behind ninth-place Alabama and one shot in front of 12th place Ohio State. No. 1 Oklahoma State leads the tournament after shooting a 13-under 275.
Lipsky went 1-under 35 on the front nine before carding a 3-under 33 on the back side, matching the second-best total of the day on the back nine.
Junior Josh Dupont (Poway, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) and senior Jonathan Bowers (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) each shot rounds of even-par 72 to sit in 32nd place overall. Dupont was 1-over on the front side before going 1-under on the back, while Bowers played both nines in even par fashion.
Sophomores Eric Chun (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) and Sam Chien (San Diego, Calif./Mt. Carmel) both went 6-over 78 to round out Northwestern's day. Chun had a disastrous start with a 6-over 42 on the front side; he recovered to shoot an even-par 36 on the back. Chien went 38-40 for his total of 78. The duo is tied for 68th in the individual standings.
Day two of the three-day Puerto Rico Classic at the Rio Mar River Course begins at 6 a.m. CT tomorrow, Monday, Feb. 22.
