    Wildcats Move Up on Final Day at Kepler Intercollegiate

    Northwestern jumps to eighth, just four strokes out of a sixth-place tie

    2014-15: Competed in eight of Northwestern’s tournaments as a member of the team lineup, seven times in stroke play events and also in the Big Ten Match Play Championship … Ranked third on the team with a 73.81 stroke average … Finished the regular season on a very strong note, notching his first top-20 of the season at The Kepler Intercollegiate (April 11-12) before placing a career-best ninth at The Boilermaker (April 18-19) for his first-career top-10 result … At the Kepler, had a second-round 1-under 70 … Opened The Boilermaker with a 2-under 70 and a 4-under 68 in the first two rounds … Briefly got into contention with two early birdies in the final round, but despite a late fade still finished ninth overall to help NU to a season-best third-place team finish … During the fall, closed NU’s own Windon Memorial (Sept. 21-22) with a final round even-par 70 … Best finish of the fall came in a 27th-place showing at the Rod Myers Invitational (Oct. 11-12) … Fired an even-par 71 in the second round of the Gifford Collegiate (Nov. 3-5).

Was at or below par in every round of the Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic (3/4-3/5), opening with a 72 before carding a 3-under 69 and a 2-under 70 to place a career-best 11th ... Closed the regular season with a 12th-place result that helped NU to the team title at its own Spring Invitational (4/15-4/16) ... Twice recorded second-round even-par 71s during the fall, first at NU's own Windon Memorial Classic and again at the Gifford Collegiate at CordeValle ... Outside of collegiate competition, advanced out of U.S. Open local qualifying at Northmoor County Club in Highland Park, Ill., with a t-5 69 before winning a playoff on the second hole to move on to the Sectional qualifier (5/6).
