    NU Endures Rough Start, Better Finish at Puerto Rico Classic

    Wildcats play their first nine in combined 19-over par before recovering to play the second in 2-over

    Fall 2013: Competed in all five of Northwestern's fall tournaments ... Had one top-20 finish with a 13th-place effort at the Erin Hills Intercollegiate (Oct. 6-8) where he closed with a 3-under 69 ... Shattered his previous career-best total by five strokes and recorded one of just seven scores of 64 or better in Northwestern program history when he fired a 6-under 64 in the second round of the Gifford Collegiate at Pelican Hill (Nov. 4) ... The tally was the lowest for a Wildcat since 2009 and came with a 6-under 29 on his second nine, believed to be the first 29 in NU history.

    2012-13: Competed in three of Northwestern's fall tournaments as an individual before working his way into the team lineup for every regular-season spring event ... Collected seven rounds at par or better on the year with six of those coming during NU's four spring stroke play events ... Best result of the year was a fifth-place effort at the regular-season-ending Northwestern Spring Invitational (4/15-4/16) where he opened and closed with collegiate-best 3-under 69s en route to a fifth-place 2-under 214 to help NU to the team title ... His 69s were part of identical 11-under 277 team scores for NU, at the time tied for the 10th best single-round team totals in school history ... Halved both of his matches at the Big Ten Match Play Championship in early February ... Began the Puerto Rico Classic (2/17-2/19) with a 4-over 76 before coming back to card identical 1-under 71s in each of the last two rounds ... Fired a first-round even-par 70 at the U.S. Intercollegiate (3/28) ... Best fall finish was a 23rd-place effort at the Wildcats' own Windon Memorial Classic during which he carded a fall-season-best even-par 71 in the second round ... Also played in the season-opening Inverness Intercollegiate and the Gifford Collegiate at CordeValle as an individual in the fall.

    High School: Won the 2011 Scottish Boys Stroke Play Championship by making five birdies on the back nine to win by one ... Selected to play for the Scotland Boys Team in the 2011 Boys Home Internationals, which is a four-team Match Play tournament consisting of teams from Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales ... Also represented Scotland at the Under-16 level in international matches against England, Ireland, Wales and Holland ... Holds the course record at Crail Golf Club with a 62 ... Won the 2010 SGU Junior Tour Event ... Twice a British Prep Schools Championship winner.

    Personal: Born Josh Jamieson, son of Laurie and Susan Jamieson ... Grew up playing all of St. Andrews' links courses including the famed Old Course where he works as a caddy ... Great grandfather Laurie Ayton and great uncle Alex Ayton both spent time as the head professional at Evanston Golf Club ... The Junior Club trophy at St. Andrews is called the Ayton Trophy after Alex presented it to the Club in 1947.
