EVANSTON, Ill. -- Junior defensive end Corey Wootton (Rutherford, N.J./Don Bosco Prep) has been named an honorable mention All-America selection by SI.com. The first-team All-Big Ten honoree led Northwestern with nine sacks and 15 tackles for loss in 2008.

Wootton made 39 total tackles on the year, meaning 38 percent of his stops pushed the opposing offense in the opposite direction. In addition to his SI.com All-America and first-team All-Big Ten nod, Wootton also was a second-team all-conference choice of the media and was honored at the NGN football banquet as the Northwestern MVP by a vote of his teammates.
