CHICAGO -- Dave Revsine will host the Big Ten Bowl Selection Special at 7:30 p.m. CT Sunday live from the Big Ten Network studios in Chicago. Revsine will be joined by Gerry DiNardo, Howard Griffith and Glen Mason, as the network's analysts preview each Big Ten bowl matchup and discuss key postseason factors during the one-hour program.

In addition to getting the details on the complete conference bowl picture, watch the live stream of NU's bowl announcement news conference on NUsports.com beginning at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Big Ten Network's postseason football coverage continues on Thursdays in December with Bowl Preview Shows beginning Dec. 9. Each week, the Big Ten Network studio crew will offer an in-depth look at the Big Ten bowl matchups, examine the top story lines and provide updates as each team makes its bowl preparations.

Northwestern is heading to a bowl game for the third consecutive year after wrapping up the 2010 regular season with a 7-5 mark. The 'Cats appeared in the Valero Alamo Bowl in 2008 before earning a New Year's Day bowl berth in the Outback Bowl following the 2009 campaign.

For the first time since the 2000 season, three teams ended the year atop the Big Ten standings. Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin each finished 7-1 in conference play and 11-1 overall to earn a share of the 2010 Big Ten Championship and the chance to earn the league's automatic bid to the Bowl Championship Series (BCS).

Overall, eight Big Ten teams earned bowl eligibility, matching the conference record for most bowl berths in a single season. In addition to NU and the Big Ten tri-champions, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, and Penn State will receive postseason invitations.

The Big Ten's eight bowl tie-ins include the following:

Rose Bowl/BCS Automatic Bid • Jan. 1 • Pasadena, Calif.
Capital One Bowl • Jan. 1 • Orlando, Fla.
Outback Bowl • Jan. 1 • Tampa, Fla.
Gator Bowl • Jan. 1 • Jacksonville, Fla.
Insight Bowl • Dec. 28 • Tempe, Ariz.
Texas Bowl • Dec. 29 • Houston, Texas
TicketCity Bowl • Jan. 1 • Dallas, Texas
Little Caesars Pizza Bowl • Dec. 26 • Detroit, Mich.
