    • Northwestern lost on Senior Day at Ryan Field for only the second time in the last 10 seasons dating to 2004.

    • MSU has been giving up 171.1 passing yards a contest, The Wildcats gained 239 yards through the air today.

    • NU was again perfect in the red zone in two attempts. The Wildcats are 40-of-41 within the 20-yard line (.976) in 2013 with the only unsuccessful occurrence in the zone against Maine on Sept. 21. Northwestern has 22 touchdowns and 18 field goals in the red zone this season.

    Northwestern Individual Notes

    • Two Wildcats appeared in NU's starting lineup for the first time in their respective careers Saturday. Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Adam DePietro started at left guard in the absence of the injured Geoff Mogus, while junior Jimmy Hall earned a start at safety in a spot traditionally manned by Traveon Henry.

    • With his first field goal, PK Jeff Budzien scored his 264th career point, passing Brian Gowins (1995-98, 261 points) as Northwestern's career leader. His second field goal gives Budzien 267 career points with one game left in his Wildcats tenure.

    • Budzien is 20-of-22 in field goals in 2013. The 20 three-pointers pull him into a tie for a Northwestern season record with Brian Gowins in 1997 and Amado Villareal in 2008.

    • Budzien now has 45 career field goals. He needs two field goals to gain second place on Northwestern's all-time record list. John Duvic, with 46 from 1983 to '86, is currently second.

    • Budzien's career field goal accuracy average (45-of-52, .865) ranks as the best in Northwestern history.

    • Budzien has scored 91 points in 2013, ranked seventh in NU single-season scoring. Budzien's 107 points in 2012 is in sixth place.

    • QB Trevor Siemian tied a career high with 25 pass completions (in 43 attempts) today.

    • Siemian added 28 rushing yards for 7.0 yards per carry.

    • Nine different Wildcats caught passes, with WR Tony Jones leading NU with a game-high seven receptions for 59 yards.

    • With a team-leading 50 catches for this season, Jones has led or tied for the lead in receptions in five games this season.

    • With three catches today, WR Christian Jones extended his team-best streak to 16 consecutive games with at least one reception.

    • S Jimmy Hall had a career- and game-high 11 tackles today. He had nine stops in the first half.

    • DE Ifeadi Odenigbo had Northwestern's only quarterback sack today. That gives him 5.5 for the season, second only to DE Tyler Scott's 6.0.

    • For the second time in the past three games, S Ibraheim Campbell notched 10 tackles, one of which was for a tackle for loss today.

    • P Chris Gradone's fourth-quarter 61-yard punt is a career high and the longest Northwestern punt this season. He also had three of his four punts land inside the 20-yard line today.
