EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern senior Jeremy Ebert (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard-Darby) has been named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week, the Walter Camp Football Foundation announced Sunday.

Ebert posted a career day to help Northwestern upset ninth-ranked Nebraska in Lincoln, racking up a career-best 147 receiving yards on six catches. Ebert scored one touchdown on an 81-yard catch-and-run that put the Wildcats ahead by two scores in the fourth quarter. The play tied for the second-longest passing play in Northwestern football history.

Ebert's long touchdown catch also put the senior wideout over the 2,000-yard plateau for his career, just the fifth Wildcat ever to reach that milestone. By day's end, Ebert stood at 2,056 career receiving yards, good for fourth on NU's all-time list. He also ranks third in the Northwestern record books with 18 career touchdown catches.

The last Northwestern player to receive a Walter Camp National Player of the Week laurel was Dan Persa, who did so on Nov. 14 last season following NU's win over No. 13 Iowa.

This is the eighth year that the Walter Camp Football Foundation is honoring one offensive and one defensive player as its national FBS player of the week during the regular season. Recipients are selected by a panel of national media members and administered by the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
