EVANSTON, Ill. -- Due to programming conflicts on WGN Radio (720 AM), five Northwestern football games will be heard on WMVP-AM Radio (ESPN 1000) this fall, including the Wildcats' 2011 season opener at Boston College on Saturday, Sept. 3. WGN and its broadcast team of Dave Eanet and Ted Albrecht will still be calling all the Wildcats action.

The five Northwestern games that will be carried by ESPN 1000 this fall are: Sept. 3 at Boston College (11 a.m. CT kickoff), Sept. 10 vs. Eastern Illinois (2:30 p.m. CT), Sept. 17 at Army (2:30 p.m. CT), Oct. 8 vs. Michigan (6 p.m. CT) and Oct. 15 at Iowa (6 p.m. CT).

The 2011 season marks the 16th consecutive year that Northwestern football games will be broadcast by WGN Radio, Chicago's 50,000-watt clear-channel station that can be heard in 38 states and Canada. Eanet is now in his 22nd season as the Wildcats' play-by-play voice and Albrecht is in his 18th season as NU's color analyst.

All 12 Northwestern regular-season games can be heard live on wgnradio.com.
