    Northwestern Early-Season Kick Times, TV Designations Announced

    EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern Athletics and the Big Ten Conference today announced kickoff times and television designations for early weeks of the 2014 college football season.

    Northwestern opens the campaign with three straight home games at Ryan Field, beginning with a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff on Saturday, Aug. 30, against California. The game will air on ABC in Chicagoland with an ESPN2 mirror.

    One week later (Sept. 6), Northwestern will again play in the 2:30 p.m. CT time slot when it faces Northern Illinois, a game slated to be televised by BTN.

    Season tickets to watch Chicago's Big Ten Team are on sale now and are available online or by calling the Northwestern Athletics ticket office at 888-GO-PURPLE.

    The Wildcats and Golden Bears are meeting for a second straight season after Northwestern claimed a 44-30 road victory in Berkeley in last year's season-opener. The matchup between the `Cats and Huskies is the first since a 2005 clash at Ryan Field.
