EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern seniors Kain Colter, Venric Mark and Tyler Scott will take part in one of Big Ten football's most celebrated annual rituals when they join Pat Fitzgerald at the 2013 Big Ten Football Media Day and Kickoff Luncheon events July 24-25 in Chicago. The 42nd annual luncheon features 19 returning All-Big Ten honorees, including all three representatives from the 'Cats.

Colter will be appearing at the Media Day and Luncheon for the second straight year while Mark and Scott are making their first trips to the festivities.

Upon arriving at the Hilton Chicago on Wednesday, Fitzgerald and the players will begin a day-long series of interviews with prominent print, online and broadcast media members from local and national outlets. Fitzgerald is slated to be the first of the 12 league head coaches to address and field questions from more than 200 print reporters, beginning at 10 a.m. CT.

All 12 head coaches addresses will be televised live on the Big Ten Network.

Following another round of one-on-one interviews with print and online media Thursday morning, coaches and players will gather for the fan autograph session followed by the annual luncheon at 11:30 a.m. A limited number of tickets remain available for $100 per seat or $1,000 per table (10 seats). Contact Sue Immekus at the Big Ten office at 847-696-1010, ext. 122, or simmekus@bigten.org to purchase tickets.

The Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon annually attracts some of the most talented names in college sports. The event has seen the likes of legendary coaches as well as each of the conference's Heisman Trophy winners since 1970. In all, nearly 850 of the conference's finest players, over 60 head coaches and more than 47,000 supporters have made the Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon a yearly stop in their preseason college football schedules.
