Learn More About PCA Chicago
CHICAGO -- Northwestern's Pat Fitzgerald and Chris Collins headline a panel of Chicago-area collegiate head coaches that will provide insight, advice and stories on the power of sports in a special upcoming event benefiting the Chicago chapter of the national nonprofit organization Positive Coaching Alliance.
PCA is committed to developing Better Athletes, Better People through youth and high school sports. Fitzgerald and Collins, both members of PCA's National Advisory Board, will be joined by Notre Dame head men's basketball coach Mike Brey and DePaul head women's soccer coach Erin Chastain to participate in a panel discussion at the "Coffee with Coaches" breakfast event on Monday, June 16, at 7:30 a.m. at the Willis Tower's Metropolitan Club.
In keeping with the Double-Goal Coach® training that Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) provides in its workshops for youth and high school sports coaches -- where one goal is winning and the more important goal is life lessons through sports -- Fitzgerald, Collins, Brey and Chastain will discuss their personal experiences pursuing both of those goals.
Northwestern alum Dave Revsine, lead studio anchor on the Big Ten Network, will moderate the panel. PCA Founder and CEO Jim Thompson will also speak on the importance of positive coaching role models in young athletes' lives.
"We are very lucky to have such great role models like Fitz, Collins, Chastain and Brey in this region so we can learn from them on a daily basis," said PCA-Chicago Chapter Executive Director Jason Sacks. "PCA is thrilled that this exceptional group of coaches will take time out of their busy schedules to speak to area coaches, parents and business leaders at our breakfast event. Those in attendance will surely benefit from their wealth of knowledge and advice."
PCA-Chicago is currently partnered with over 70 schools and youth sports organizations in the area, in which they present live workshops and online courses for their coaches, parents and student-athletes. Workshop and course content, companion books by Jim Thompson and follow-up e-communications all contain research-based sport psychology and educational psychology, plus tips and advice from elite coaches, athletes and sports and business leaders on a National Advisory Board that also includes PCA's National Spokesperson, former Bulls Head Coach Phil Jackson.
Tickets and tables are available at chicago.positivecoach.org or by contacting Jason Sacks (email@example.com or 773-506-4744).
