EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's 2011 season opener at Boston College will kick off at noon ET (11 a.m. CT) on Saturday, Sept. 3 at BC's Alumni Stadium. The Atlantic Coast Conference also announced that ESPNU will be televising the contest nationally.

Northwestern's matchup with Boston College marks the fourth meeting between the two schools, and the first since 1993.

With today's ACC television announcement, every 2011 Northwestern football game will be televised either nationally (Big Ten Network, CBS Sports Network or ESPN family of networks) or regionally (ABC). Kickoff times and television plans for early-season and primetime NU games will be announced in the coming weeks.

Season tickets for Northwestern's six-game home slate remain on sale. Fans can purchase season tickets online or by calling 847-491-CATS or 888-GO-PURPLE.
