'Cats Indoors For Helmet and Shorts Practice on Wednesday
April 11, 2007 EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern held its 10th spring practice Wednesday morning, sandwiching its Tuesday and Thursday full-pad practices with a shorts and helmets session in Trienens Hall, the 'Cats' indoor practice facility. The Wildcats, who have experienced a wide range of "spring" weather in two-plus weeks, were greeted to a heavy wet snow with gusty winds Wednesday, which nixed any thoughts of an outdoor practice. Northwestern conducted a 14-period practice, which included numerous position drills emphasizing fundamentals. One of the anchors of the offensive line is the imposing 6-foot-8 Dylan Thiry (Louisville, Ky./Trinity). After practice, Thiry spoke with NUSports.com about how the offensive line is using the spring to gel as a unit. He talked about his impressions of both the offense and defense in Saturday's scrimmage, how the younger players on the offensive line are using the spring to improve and how he has been impressed with the team's effort and attitude this spring.
