EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern Football will host an open-to-the-public practice session at historic Ryan Field on Saturday, April 6, at 10 a.m. CT, followed by a youth clinic for players in grades eight-and-below led by members of Chicago's Big Ten Team. Both events will be free to all attendees, with registration required for clinic participants.
Gates P & Q on the west side of Ryan Field will open at 9 a.m. CT on Satuday, April 6, for fans to access a public practice of the Wildcats football program. Head Coach Pat Fitzgerald will address the crowd to offer insight on the practice session as he puts the Wildcats through their spring paces. Concessions will be available and parking in both the east and west lots of Ryan Field will be complimentary.
Following practice, Northwestern Athletics and Meijer will host a youth football clinic for players in grades eight-and-below on Ryan Field. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in basic drills and learn fundamentals while interacting with members of the Northwestern football program. Registration is required for the clinic by Friday, April 5, at the link above or by calling 888-GO-PURPLE.
In addition, Northwestern and LifeSource are partnering to host the Purple Pride Blood Drive in the Ryan Field Stadium Club from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT. All registered donors will receive a free game ticket to any 2013 Wildcats home lacrosse game and photo opportunities with the 2012 NCAA Lacrosse Championship trophy and the 2013 Gator Bowl Championship trophy.
