EVANSTON, Ill. -- Fans of Chicago's Big Ten Team are invited to take advantage of two opportunities to watch the Wildcats in person this spring, as Northwestern hosts a pair of practices open to the public on consecutive Saturdays in April. The first, slated for Saturday, April 5, will be held at NU's scenic Lakeside Field complex, before the Wildcats return home to Ryan Field the following week (April 12) to stage their final spring practice.
For both open spring practices, stadium gates will open at 9 a.m. with practice scheduled to run from 10 a.m. until approximately noon. Admission and parking are free for all fans on both occasions and concession stands will be open for the duration of practice.
Fans unable to attend the April 5 practice at Lakeside Field can catch a live telecast of the event on the Big Ten Network, with former All-Big Ten Wildcats quarterback Dan Persa joining BTN's Eric Collins in the broadcast booth.
On April 12, fans are invited to participate in two special initiatives occurring in conjunction with that day's practice at Ryan Field, beginning with the Purple Pride Blood Drive hosted by LifeSource. Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the blood drive will be located on the Stadium Club level (7th floor) of the Ryan Field press box. Click here to make your appointment for the Purple Pride Blood Drive on April 12 and support Northwestern's efforts to save lives in the Chicagoland community.
Following the Wildcats practice, Northwestern will once again stage its annual Youth Football Clinic in partnership with USA Football. Youth athletes in grades eight-and-below are invited to hear from Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald
and members of the Wildcats while conducting position-specific drills. Attendees also will learn proper tackling and equipment-fitting techniques to ensure player safety. Online Registration is required
for all participants by Friday, April 11.
Please send any additional questions about either event to firstname.lastname@example.org.
