EVANSTON, Ill. -- Head coach Pat Fitzgerald and the Wildcats recently capped off a 10-win season with a thrilling victory in the TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl, and now the 'Cats would like to celebrate one last time and say thanks to the fans of Chicago's Big Ten Team!
All Northwestern students and fans are invited to relive the excitement of the season this Friday (Jan. 18) in the Louis Room at the Norris Center on campus. The celebration will begin at 4 p.m. (doors open 3:30 p.m.) and feature appearances from Coach Fitzgerald, President Morton Schapiro, Vice President of Athletics and Recreation Jim Phillips and members of the team, as well as performances from the Northwestern University Marching Band, the WildPride Spirit Squad and Willie the Wildcat.
Following the event, fans will have the opportunity to take pictures with the Gator Bowl trophy won by the Wildcats when they defeated Mississippi State, 34-20, on New Year's Day in Jacksonville.
The event is free and open to the public and light snacks will be provided. The Norris Center is located at 1999 Campus Drive on Northwestern's Evanston campus; parking restrictions in the Norris/South Beach parking structure will be lifted at 3:30 p.m. Friday to provide free, convenient parking for celebration attendees.
