    A handful of freshmen have impressed observers during fall camp

    2014: One of four true freshmen to see the field in 2014 ... Led Northwestern in kickoff return yardage (288) and return average (26.2), posting an 89-yard KOR touchdown in the season-finale vs. Illinois ... It was NU's first kickoff return TD since then-true freshman Venric Mark ran one back at Wisconsin in the final game of the 2010 regular season ... Vault missed four Big Ten games and nearly all of a fifth with a lower-body injury ... Scored two rushing touchdowns in a 24-7 win over Western Illinois ... Carried five times for 18 yards against NIU ... Made collegiate debut against Cal and ran for 25 yards on five carries ... Named NU's Offensive Big Playmaker vs. Western Illinois ... Vault was a high school running back recruited to NU as a wide receiver, but inserted at tailback during training camp.
