    Scott Hamel is entering his third season as a member of the Northwestern Football program and his first as the team's offensive graduate assistant. Hamel previously worked in offensive and special teams quality control for the Wildcats -- including during NU's 10-3 2012 campaign -- assisting the coaching staff with the weekly generation of scouting reports, opponent film study and analysis, and in-game resources for coaches and players.

    Hamel also has made extensive contributions to the Wildcats' recruiting efforts, serving as a recruiting assistant to both Mick McCall and Marty Long.

    Hamel came to Northwestern after five years in the finance industry working for Morgan Stanley/Smith Barney as well as Deutsche Bank, during which time he earned his master's in business administration from DePaul University.

    A native of Rye, N.Y., Hamel graduated in 2006 from the University of Michigan. He spent three seasons with the Wolverines football program as a walk-on running back, helping Michigan to a pair of Big Ten Conference titles and appearances in the Rose Bowl.

    Hamel currently is pursuing a master's degree in liberal studies from Northwestern.
