Chris Batti, who began working with the Wildcat program in the summer of 2008, was tabbed the team's offensive graduate assistant coach in March of 2010. He was elevated to the GA position after serving as Northwestern's offensive quality control intern in 2009. In 2010, Northwestern ranked third in the Big Ten in passing offense with 242.6 yards per game in the regular season. Quarterback Dan Persa broke the Big Ten record for completion percentage after connecting on 73.5 percent of his throws, earning All-Big Ten first team (coaches) and second-team (media) honors in the process. A Glenview, Ill., native, Batti played quarterback at Harper College in Palatine, Ill., in 2004-05, and was a member of Harper's 2004 NJCAA national championship club. He earned conference scholar-athlete honors while at Harper. Batti then transferred to the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and worked with the Fighting Illini football program in 2007 as a student manager. He assisted the coaches and staff with drills during practice in addition to charting plays. Batti also performed data entry of plays after practice and games. He was a senior manager for the Illini when they earned a trip to the 2008 Rose Bowl. Since joining Northwestern, Batti has assisted in all phases of the program, from scouting, self-scouting, video breakdown, strength and conditioning and recruiting. Batti earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Illinois in May of 2008. |
