    2012-13 Northwestern Men's Basketball Schedule

    EVANSTON, Ill. -- Tip times and television designations for the upcoming 2012-13 Northwestern men's basketball season have been announced by the Big Ten Conference.

    The television schedule begins with the Wildcats' season-opener against Texas Southern on Nov. 13 is being televised by Big Ten Network. Other nonconference games to be shown on BTN include matchups against Butler (Dec. 8), Texas State (Dec. 17) and Stanford (Dec. 21). The primetime meeting with Butler is the last of five games slated to be shown on BTN on that particular date.

    Please note that the contest against Texas State was originally scheduled for Dec. 18 but has been moved up a day in order to accommodate the television broadcast.

    Television coverage for three other nonconference games were previously announced. The Nov. 24 South Padre Island Invitational game against either Illinois State or UAB will be shown on CBS Sports Network. Also, the Nov. 27 ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchup against Maryland as well as the Dec. 4 game at Baylor are both being televised by ESPN2.

    NU's five remaining nonconference home games will either be televised by BTN or streamed live on Those determinations will be made at a future date. Additionally, Northwestern intends to offer a live video stream for the Nov. 23 game against TCU in the South Padre Island Invitational. The stream would be accessible via Wildcats All-Access on

    Northwestern will have a minimum of seven Big Ten games televised by the ESPN family of networks, including the team's conference opener at home against Michigan Jan. 3 (ESPN2).



    The Feb. 2 home meeting with Purdue is being broadcast on ESPN, while the Feb. 28 game against Ohio State that emanates from Welsh-Ryan Arena will be shown by either ESPN or ESPN2. In addition, ESPNU is televising four of the Wildcats' games: at Penn State (Jan. 10), vs. Iowa (Jan. 13), at Nebraska (Jan. 26), vs. Penn State (March 7).

    At least nine other games are being televised by BTN, highlighted by a home matchup with Indiana on Jan. 20 and a Sunday primetime showdown against Illinois in Evanston on Feb. 17.

    Northwestern's Feb. 24 game at Purdue and its March 10 regular-season finale at Michigan State are both wild card games as they could be shown by either CBS, ESPN or BTN.
