EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern University men's basketball sophomore-to-be Kyle Rowley (Arima, Trinidad/Lake Forest (Ill.) Academy) has earned a spot on the senior national team of his native Trinidad and Tobago. He is the youngest member of the team's 12-man roster.

Rowley joins classmate John Shurna (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) as Wildcat players who are competing internationally this summer. Shurna is a member of the United States squad which is set to begin play at the FIBA U19 World Championships later this week.

Trinidad and Tobago begins play Tuesday against Jamaica at the 20th-annual Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) Men's Basketball Championships in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Barbados and Bahamas are the other two teams in the group. Tournament play continues through Saturday, July 4.

Rowley started 28 of 31 contests for Northwestern as a true freshman last season, helping the Wildcats to a 17-14 record and a National Invitation Tournament berth. He averaged 3.6 points and 1.8 rebounds per contest and ranked third on the team with a .465 field goal percentage.
