    EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern head men's basketball coach Bill Carmody has announced the addition of transfer Nikola Cerina (pronounced nee-CO-lah CHUR-nuh) to the Wildcats' roster. Cerina played the last two seasons at TCU and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

    He must sit out the 2011-12 season due to NCAA transfer rules and will be eligible to compete the following season.

    A native of Topola Oplenac, Serbia, Cerina is a 6-foot-9 forward. This past season, he appeared in all 33 games for the Horned Frogs, including making 18 starts. He averaged 5.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while shooting 48.1 percent from the field. Cerina averaged a team-high 8.4 rebounds over the season's final five games, including two double-digit efforts.

    As a freshman, he saw action in 29 contest with 20 starts, posting norms of 6.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.
