EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern head men's basketball coach Chris Collins has announced the signing of guard Johnnie Vassar (Chicago, Ill./JSerra (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.)) to a National Letter of Intent to join the Wildcats for the upcoming 2014-15 season.

Vassar joins Vic Law, Scottie Lindsey, Bryant McIntosh and Gavin Skelly---all of whom signed during the early signing period in November---in NU's talent recruiting class that is currently ranked No. 30 in the nation by ESPN.com.

"We're very excited to be able to add Johnnie to a great incoming freshman class," Collins said. "He will provide us with an elite level of athleticism and speed. He has a lot of experience and he's going to help bolster our backcourt. Johnnie is a winner and he's going to fit in very well with the other guys in this class."
