    EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern forward Drew Crawford will have the opportunity to showcase his skills to professional scouts this weekend when he heads to Virginia for the annual Portsmouth Invitational.

    Established in 1953, the Invitational features 64 of the top senior college basketball players who participate in a 12-game tournament over a four-day span. Crawford is set to compete for the Norfolk Sports Club team which includes Penn State's Tim Frazier.

    Games begin Wednesday evening at Churchland High School Sports Complex in Portsmouth, Va., and continue through Saturday.

    Crawford was a NABC second-team All-District and a third-team All-Big Ten selection this season, posting team-leading averages of 15.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. His 1,920 career points rank second in school history and is NU's all-time leader in games played (143) and games started (142). He also ranks in the top five in school history in minutes played, field goals, field goal attempts, 3-point field goals and 3-point field goal attempts.
