    EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern University Vice President for Athletics and Recreation Jim Phillips has announced that Bill Carmody will not return as the head coach of the Wildcats' men's basketball program.

    "Bill Carmody elevated the Northwestern basketball program during his 13-year tenure," said Vice President for Athletics & Recreation Jim Phillips. "He did so with class, integrity and always with the best interests of our student-athletes in mind. Northwestern forever will be appreciative to Bill and what he did for our basketball program."

    Carmody compiled a 192-210 record in 13 seasons as the head coach at Northwestern, including a 13-19 mark during the 2012-13 campaign.
