EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern co-captains Drew Crawford and Dave Sobolewski have been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. The Wildcats are two of the five winners to represent District 5 this season.

Crawford, a 2011-12 Academic All-American, graduated last spring with a degree in Economics. The Naperville, Ill., native is currently pursuing a master's degree in Sports Administration from Northwestern as he completes his final season of eligibility on the court. The redshirt senior is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a nominee for the 2013-14 Allstate Good Works Team.

Crawford currently leads the Wildcats in scoring with 16.2 points per game and rebounding with 6.9 boards per game. He is the active leading scorer in the Big Ten and he ranks fourth on NU's all-time scoring list with 1,759 points.

Sobolewski is in his third season at Northwestern. The 2012-13 Academic All-Big Ten selection is studying Economics at Northwestern. The captain leads the team with 3.2 assists per game this season. He is also averaging 6.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in 17 contests this year.

Sobolewski, also a Naperville, Ill., native had one of the best offensive games in his career earlier this season when he poured in a career-high 25 points, including 12 from beyond the arc, as he guided the 'Cats to a convincing 35-point victory at UIC on Nov. 20.

To be selected for the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must maintain a grade point average of 3.3 or higher in both undergraduate and graduate work.

Northwestern's duo is joined on the 2013-14 CoSIDA Academic All-District 5 Team by Ohio State's Aaron Craft, Butler's Alex Barlow and Youngstown State's Kendrick Perry. All Academic All-District players are now eligible for consideration for the Academic All-America Award.
