    Northwestern Men's Basketball Posts 51-44 Win over Seton Hall

    EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Northwestern men's basketball team rang up it's fifth win in six tries this year with a 51-44 win over Seton Hall today at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

    The game was tied at the half, 23-23, and knotted again at 42-42 with 4:18 left before NU went on a 9-2 run to seal the win. Evan Eschmeyer led the 'Cat attack, scoring 19 points and pulling down a career-high 18 rebounds. Julian Bonner added 14 points, four rebounds and four assists. NU held Seton Hall to just 18 of 58 field goal attempts and five of 35 shooting from behind the three-point arc. The Pirates were also limited to just three free throws the entire game. NU made their last seven free throws, including four by Joe Branch, to pull away. Seton Hall was led by Shaheen Holloway's 19 points.

    Northwestern improves to 5-1 on the season, their best start since they opened the 1993-94 season 9-0. Seton Hall falls to 4-4 on the year. The 'Cats are in action again next Wed., Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. when they take on the Wofford Terriers in Welsh-Ryan Arena.
