    Opening Statement...
"They were playing a match-up zone, it's a kind of funky defense. So I felt we hesitated a lot in the first half offensively, even though we got some pretty good looks. They came out strong and got a lead early, but then we quickly came back. I thought the last eight minutes of the first half we defended better, and our offense picked up. We were decisive and you have to be against that kind of defense. They don't exactly know what they're doing, with their slides and that, it's that kind of defense and it's contagious. In the second half, you see that guy number 11 [Tahj Tate] he's a good player, and there are good players on every team. You have to have a guy that can stop him, and I think Reggie [Hearn] started doing a better job. In the first half Drew [Crawford] starting heating up and our defense got a little better, a little tighter, and that got us going a little bit. Mike Turner gave us a nice contribution. It's not perfect, but it's going to get better. I liked Alex [Olah] playing in there. He had some layups that he made and some nice things around the basket. It's a tough matchup for him when there's nobody over 6'6" or 6'7", but he'll be getting better and better and I thought he made some nice passes."

On Alex Marcotullio's presence on the court...
"He's smart, he knows the ins and outs of the offense. He gets a good feel out there and he told me on the bench in the first 10 minutes a couple little things that we should be doing. He's earned that right, and he knows what to do. He helps other guys too."

On the upcoming trip to Texas for the South Padre Island Invitational...
"I think it's time for us to leave the friendly confines, and so we're anxious to get going. We're going to play some good teams. Illinois State is down there, and they beat these guys by 30 or 40 the other night. UAB is a good team, TCU is a good team, so it's a step up, but I think that's what we need right now. I think our guys need that too."

On getting a better picture of the team by playing tougher opponents...
"I think I have a pretty good gauge, I think I know the team. We're missing a couple guys so that rotation is still a little uncertain. I think what we need right now is to go and play some really good teams and hopefully learn something from it."
