EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern Baseball culminated its annual Alumni Weekend at Rocky Miller Park on Sunday with the current Wildcats taking down the alumni team, 5-0.

Seven pitchers hurled a shutout inning apiece for the current squad. Francis Brooke, Brandon Magallones, Jack Quigley, Zach Morton, Dan Tyson, Paul Snieder and Kyle Ruchim all saw action on the mound.

The current 'Cats took the l-0 lead in the bottom of the second as Geoff Rowan reached on a leadoff single, moved to third on a hit by Colby Everett and scored on a squeeze bunt by Hamilton Wise.

The advantage grew to three runs with a pair of tallies in the fourth. Freshman Walker Moses started the frame with a hit, stole second and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Everett. Quigley scored the second run, coming on as a pinch runner following Rowan's second hit of the day. He stole two bases and came in to score on a single by Luke Dauch.

Though the Wildcats assured themselves of the shutout with a scoreless top of the seventh, the teams still played the bottom half of the inning and current squad tacked on two final runs.

Freshman Reid Hunter had a sacrifice fly in the inning, while Jack Livingston added an RBI single.

Magallones was credited with the win, while Tyson struck out the side in his inning of work. The Wildcats had an 8-5 advantage in the hit column over the alumni squad. Pat McMahon had two hits for the former 'Cats, while Tommy Dodge, Tommy Finn and Matt Gailey had one apiece.

The contest highlighted a weekend full of events that included a golf outing at Wilmette Golf Club on Friday and a tailgate party prior to Saturday's football game. The program would like to offer a special "thank you" to Bud Pohlman who provided the food for the cookout during Sunday's game.
