EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern sophomore Brandon Magallones was named one of the Top 30 Prospects in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League after an outstanding summer session with the Glens Falls Golden Eagles.

Magallones was one of 12 players selected to both the All-PGCBL Second Team and the Rising Stars team. The Rising Stars are comprised of players who were collegiate freshmen, redshirt freshmen or high school seniors during the 2011-12 baseball season. Magallones was also named the league's Co-Pitcher of the Week on June 25.

The right-hander was 3-0 with a 1.33 ERA in five starts for the Golden Eagles this summer. Magallones allowed only four earned runs on 15 hits in 27.0 innings of work. The Manhattan, Ill., native struck out 30 while walking only seven and holding opponents to a batting average of .160.

As a freshman this spring Magallones led the Wildcats with seven wins and 67 strikeouts. He made 12 starts and became the first Northwestern hurler to win five straight games to begin a season since John Seaman accomplished the feat in 1998.
