EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern junior Paul Snieder (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou) has been named one of 10 national semifinalists for the College Baseball Hall of Fame's John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award. It is the second consecutive season that Snieder has earned the recognition.

At the plate, he paced Northwestern with six home runs, 42 RBI, a .432 on-base percentage and a .523 slugging percentage while earning second-team All-Big Ten honors as a designated hitter. Snieder was second on the team with a .347 batting average and 13 doubles. He hit safely in a team season-best 15 straight games from April 2-29 and was named Big Ten Player of the Week May 16.

Snieder also ranked first among all regular Wildcat pitchers with a 2.88 ERA and five saves. He went 2-2 on the mound and was third on the squad with 21 appearances. Snieder's 17 career saves (12 in 2010) are tied with Greg Ziesemer (1994-96) for the top mark in NU history.

This summer he is competing for the Cotuit Kettleers of the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League.
