EVANSTON, Ill. -- With wintry weather still in the air, the Northwestern Wildcats have announced a pair of adjustments to this week's schedule. The contest slated for Tuesday, March 26 against St. Xavier has been postponed and the Wednesday March 27 vs. Chicago State at Les Miller Field in Chicago has been pushed back to a 2:30 p.m. start.
NU's game against St. Xavier was scheduled to take place at Rocky Miller Park in Evanston, Ill., however the playing surface is not quite ready to host the two squads. The teams will look to reschedule the game for later in the spring, however no make-up date has been announced yet.
Wednesday's game versus Chicago State was shifted to Les Miller Field, home of the UIC Flames, last week. That facility boasts an entirely artificial playing surface similar to the one at Lee Pfund Stadium in Carol Stream, Ill., where Northwestern hosted Iowa in a three-game series this past weekend.
Wednesday's game was originally announced last week as a 1 p.m. start, however the first pitch between the Wildcats and Cougars will now happen at 2:30 p.m.
The Wildcats continue Big Ten play with a three-game series at Nebraska beginning on Friday, March 29 at 6:35 p.m. The first game of the series will be televised live on the Big Ten Network with Eric Collins and Cal Eldred on the call.
Tickets are on sale now for NU's game at Wrigley Field on Saturday, April 20. The 'Cats will take on Michigan at the Friendly Confines with the first pitch set for 6:05 p.m. To purchase tickets, call 888-GO-PURPLE (467-8775) or click here!
