Baseball Drops Rain-Shortened Game to UW-Milwaukee

    Box Score

The Northwestern Wildcats fell to the Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers, 6-4, in a rain-shortened, four-inning game Tuesday at Rocky Miller Park. The game was tied 2-2, but Milwaukee's four runs in the top of the fourth were enough to top NU.

The Panthers opened up with an unearned run in the first inning. NU's Bob Dainton singled in the second, driving Mike Stritch home to tie the game. After UW-Milwaukee scored a run in the top of the third, Wildcat Mike Adams doubled to left field and later scored on an error to tie it again.

Milwaukee pulled ahead for good with four runs, three of which were unearned, in the fourth. NU freshman Joe Hietpas hit a two-run double in the bottom of the fourth, but it wasn't enough for the win.
