    Freshman Kurella hits for the cycle, Thompson goes 7-8

    EVANSTON, Ill. -- Freshman Jeremy Kurella hit for the cycle in game one and sophomore Patrick Thompson went a combined 7-for-8 with seven RBIs as the Northwestern baseball team swept a doubleheader from Boston College on Saturday in Fort Myers Fla., 15-14 and 10-2. The baseball team is now 6-3 on the season.

    In game one, three Wildcat freshmen (Kurella, Wes Robinson and J.J. Standring) hit homers while Thompson went 4-for-4 en route to the 15-14 victory. Ken Kilian added a 3-for-5 performance. John Seaman picked up the win in two-thirds of an inning in relief. Kurella hit for the cycle in game one in a 4-for-4 game at the plate.

    In game two, Seaman also picked up the victory, now standing at 3-0 on the season. Thompson and senior Ollie Dunn continued their hot hitting, each going 3-for-4 with three RBIs in the 10-2 victory to complete the doubleheader sweep.

    The baseball team faces Valparaiso on Sunday and St. Peter's (N.J.) on Monday in Fort Myers, Fla.
