    Assistant Coach

    Gabe Ribas rejoined the Northwestern baseball program this year after most recently serving as an assistant coach and pitching instructor at the IMG Baseball Academy in Bradenton, Fla. In addition to his on-field duties, he also serves as the team's recruiting coordinator.

    Ribas was a member of the Northwestern baseball program as a pitcher from 1999-02 and ranks among the school's leaders in numerous statistical categories. He is second in Wildcat history with 330.1 innings pitched, 288 strikeouts and 51 games started. Ribas posted a career record of 21-22, was a second-team All-Big Ten selection in 2000, a Big Ten all-tournament team pick in 2002 and three times was named Academic All-Big Ten.

    He was selected by San Diego Padres in the 14th round of the 2002 MLB Amateur Draft and pitched for four seasons in the minor leagues in both the Padres' and Philadelphia Phillies' organizations. He was honored as the Padres' 2003 Minor League Pitcher of the Year and was named to the Eugene Emeralds' 50th Anniversary Team. After pitching for parts of two seasons for the independent Quebec City Capitales, Ribas accepted a position at the IMG Baseball Academy where he assisted in player development.

    A native of Brunswick, Maine, he has also worked as an assistant coach at Bowdoin College as well as serving as an instructor for the Frozen Ropes Baseball Academy and Rock Solid Baseball.
