
Patricia Babcock McGraw Selected to Indiana Sports Hall of Fame

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern great Patricia Babcock McGraw will be inducted into the Indiana Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 29.
Babcock McGraw, a 1994 graduate of Northwestern, was an Indiana high school basketball legend at Culver Academies in Culver, Indiana.
She was named Indiana Miss Basketball during her senior year in 1990 and was a three-time all-state selection. During that 1990 season, Babcock McGraw was named a Parade All-American and the Gatorade, Naismith and USA Today Indiana Player of the Year. She ended her decorated high school career with 2,199 points, the second all-time leading scorer in state history. She averaged 32.2 points per game during her junior year in 1989 and finished her career with averages of 26.8 points, 13.2 rebounds and 3.6 blocks per game.
Babcock McGraw had equal success at Northwestern, leading the Wildcats to two NCAA tournament appearances in 1991 and 1993. Chicago's Big Ten Team amassed 75 wins during her four-year career. She graduated as the fifth all-time leading scorer in program history with 1,353 points, the third all-time leading rebounder at 813 and was fourth in career field goal percentage, shooting nearly 55 percent. She earned two all-conference selections and was twice named academic All-Big Ten.
Babcock McGraw is now a sportswriter for the Daily Herald and a television analyst for the Big Ten Network, Chicago Sky TV and IHSA TV to cover the Illinois state basketball tournament.
Eleven individuals will be inducted as part of the 2017 Indiana Sports Hall of Fame class.
