EVANSTON, Ill. - Redshirt junior JerShon Cobb and redshirt freshman Sanjay Lumpkin will represent Northwestern in competition on a tour of Belgium, England and Holland coming up in August.
The squad, which consists of 10 NCAA Division I student-athletes, is being coached by Northwestern assistant Patrick Baldwin.
"This tour will be a tremendous opportunity for JerShon and Sanjay," Northwestern head men's basketball coach Chris Collins said. "They both were limited in the amount of game competition that they were able to experience last season, so it will be great for them to be able to get on the court and square off against some unfamiliar opponents. We expect them both to play big roles for us this next season and this will be a terrific way for them to get started."
Cobb sat out the 2012-13 season while Lumpkin was limited to four appearances last season before eventually receiving a medical hardship waiver.
The traveling team is slated to play five games on the exhibition tour from August 8-16. In Belgium, the squad will compete in Antwerp, Brussels, Bruges and Ghent, while also playing one contest in Amsterdam. In addition, the group will tour London along the way.
